Wolves Den Historical Fencing
Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to stay fit and learn new skills? Wolves Den Historical Fencing is offering classes commencing September 23 and September 25, 2025 at Glenwood Community Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8pm to 10pm!
Historical Fencing (HEMA) is a fast-growing recreational activity and sport internationally. Similar in training methodology and safety to Olympic Fencing, Historical Fencing offers a connection to tradition through the study of fencing throughout history as well as a fun take on physical activity. With multiple clubs in every major city in Canada and the USA, Historical Fencing is on the rise!
Learn the art of historical swordsmanship with weapons such as the two-handed longsword of Medieval Europe, the elegant and sleek rapier of Renaissance Italy, the light and fast foil of the modern Classical Era or the powerful broadsword from the 18th C Scottish Highlands!
Whether you're searching for a safe and competitive sport or to participate recreationally, Wolves Den's experienced coaches can help you attain your goals. All coaches are certified professionals by fencing programs such as Storica Defensa and the Sonoma State University Fencing Master's Certificate Program and are overseen by Wolves Den Head Coach and Board Certified Maestro D'Armi, Jay Maes.
All equipment is provided! Classes are $125.00 per 10 week session.
Open House is September 16, 2025 at 7:00 pm.
The first 10 week session will begin Tuesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 25, 2025.
