Pickleball

As of October 15, 2024, we will be switching from two courts to one full sized court which will be available for online booking.  If you wish to rent two courts at the same time, please email Jaimie at assistantglenwoodcc@gmail.com to request same.  Please note that if you wish to rent the two courts, they will not be regulation size and will remain at $12 per court.  Thank you.

We are thrilled to bring Pickleball back to our Centre after the summer break and thank you for your patience.

Due to several reasons, we have moved to a different platform to register for Pickleball sessions.  We are hoping this platform makes booking, tracking sessions and taking payment more efficient for both you and the Centre.  We understand that with all things new, there is an adjustment period, so please let us know if you need any help with registering.  You can contact Jaimie at assistantglenwoodcc@gmail.com for assistance.

Unfortunately, due to some events which occurred last year, we have had to introduce a couple of “rules” to our Pickleball:

  • Please do not arrive any earlier than 15 minutes prior to your time slot

  • Payment will be required at time of booking through Catch Corner (online payment)

  • We will now require you to provide proof of your booking at time of arrival.  This can simply be showing us your confirmation email received at the time of booking or showing us a snapshot of your booking on your phone.  We know this may seem a bit tedious/unnecessary, but we would not be implementing this if we did not have to.

How to register:

To keep bookings as simple as possible, we would ask that you book a court ($12 per court, 1 hour playing time) and create your own team to play with (up to 4 members).  Please use this link to sign up:  Registration Link

Should you wish to be added to a substitute list, please email Jaimie at assistantglenwoodcc@gmail.com.

About the game:

What is pickleball?  Pickleball is a paddle sport that is best described as “ping pong meets tennis on a badminton court”.  The game is played on a surface the size of a badminton court with a tennis-style net, and the balls are similar to those used in Wiffle ball.

Our pickleball program is open to everyone of every level!

What to bring:  water, paddles and balls (we do have a few extra, if needed), gym shoes (street shoes are not allowed) and comfortable sportswear.

*Glenwood Community Centre staff will take care of setting up the nets prior to your time slot

**Two court rentals will not be regulation size.  Full court is regulation size.

New to pickleball or want to improve your game?  Please contact Lionel Piche at lionelpiche@shaw.ca for lessons.
