Program Subsidies

Program Registration Fee Subsidy Grant

Through GCWCC, partial registration subsidies are available for families who would not be able to enroll their children in sports without help.  Official proof of income must be provided within 15 days of applying for the subsidy to qualify and can be include one or more of the following: 

 Canada Customs & Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment (NOA) identifying annual net income of all partners.

 Copy of documentation showing your landing date in Canada and UCI number.

 Copy of Monthly statement of income from CPP Disability (Including the income verification of all partners).  

 Proof of Social Assistance budget letter.

 Proof of Foster Parent Status.

This subsidy covers a percentage of the registration fee ONLY.  Participation fees, your percentage of the sports fees and any additional costs associated with the team are the parent’s responsibility.  Payment arrangements for your percentage of the fees can be made with the office.

(please note that the form has yet to be updated - financial assistance is available for up to $400, per activity/athlete.  Subject to funding availability.  Children are eligible for funding per season to a maximum of $800 each calendar year.  Subject to funding availability.)


Hockey Canada Assist Fund

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund was created in response to the many families experiencing financial challenges. The goal of the Fund is to help Canadian youth access hockey and play the game they love.  The Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association.  Financial eligibility for the Assist Fund is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines from Statistics Canada, which are an integral part of our application process. CLICK HERE for more information on the subject.

Hockey Winnipeg's Dianne Woods Memorial Player Financial Assistance Program

Funding available to assist with hockey costs for eligible families.

Hockey Winnipeg's Cooper Nemeth Memorial Player Assistance Fund

Funding intended to assist children and youth who would not otherwise participate in minor hockey related activities.
